This months advice is scareware – a common online scam designed to make you panic into believing your computer has been infected with viruses or hacked by criminals.

These warnings can look very convincing, using the logos of trusted companies such as Microsoft, Apple, McAfee or Norton, but in most cases, they are completely fake.
