The parish lies within the ‘rural corridor’ of West Cheshire. The village of Ashton Hayes itself sits centrally in the area and is surrounded by agricultural land, hedgerows and scattered patches of woodland. The old and central parts of the village provide a reminder to people of its history and of its past dependence on farming and the land. It is the combination of the built environment of the village and outlying dwellings, set within a healthy and attractive rural environment that the community can access, which gives this area its distinct character.

Residents of Ashton Hayes may be unaware that an outline planning application has been submitted to Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWaC) for the construction of 16 houses on land adjacent to Estone Place and Ashton Lane.
Report Fraud launches This week, the City of London Police, the national lead force for fraud, announced the full public launch of Report Fraud, which has now officially replaced Action Fraud.
