Please remember that the facility is not provided by the Council. It is owned and managed on behalf of the community by a charity (AHSRA) paid for through fundraising and income such as rental or donations.
To ensure that everyone in our community enjoys the facility safely and in consideration of our neighbours and wildlife there are a few guidelines that we ask visitors to follow:
Guidelines for Use:
- Children should be supervised by a responsible adult at all times
- The outdoor facilities, including the children’s play areas and boules court may be used at any time – other than pitch areas of the Playing Field if hired
- Football teams and any other groups are able to hire either of the pitches for exclusive use for practice or organised matches Field Contact / Rental
- Anyone wishing to use the field for any organised group training (with 5 attendees or more) must first seek approval from AHSRA before any training starts

- Other personal training or fitness services sessions are allowed free of charge but sessions are limited

- There should be no placing or fixing of any lighting or structures (eg ramps)
- There should be no use of objects or cordons that mark out an area to restrict general access or imply exclusive use
- There should be no activities which cause damage or erosion to surfaces (including the perimeter path and grassed areas)
Note: When an AHSRA community event is taking place usage guidelines may not apply and access to the facilities, including the car park, playing field and perimeter path will be restricted
General:
- Please take your rubbish home or use the litter bin provided
- Please look after the natural environment
- Please treat equipment, gates, benches etc with care
- Please always be considerate of our neighbours and keep noise to a minimum with no amplified music
- Barbecues, camping stoves or open fires are not allowed
- Motorised vehicles of any kind (unless used as a mobility aid) may not be used
- No flying of drones or model aircraft
- Fireworks and Chinese lanterns are not permitted
- Only local community information may be displayed
Parking:
- The car park has a limited number of spaces and is only for use by individuals whilst using the facilities available at the Playing Field
- There is to be no overnight parking
- Please do not park on Ashton Lane as it can cause a hazard
- We ask that you do not park on any pavements around the village and always park considerately
Dogs:
- As this is a children’s play area dogs should be kept on a lead and under control at all times and are not allowed in the Playground area or the Playing Field (even when on lead)
- Owners are asked to keep their dogs either on the public footpath or on the perimeter path (The non-public footpath section of the perimeter path may be unavailable for dog walking when large events are taking place)
- Always clean up after your dog and use the council provided dog waste bins, just outside the gates on Ashton Lane or Whitegate Lane
Note: The facility is monitored by CCTV. Incidents and anti-social behaviour (including evidence of drug-taking) will be reported to Cheshire Police
COMMUNITY EVENTS ONLY: Dog Friendly Guidelines
AHSRA would like to increase community engagement and inclusivity at events and have recognised an increasing desire in the community to bring dogs to community events held at the QE2 Sports Field.
For special community events ONLY, and when advertised as such, a modification to the guidelines will be in place.
Access for dogs is extended to include the main public event areas on the grass (dependent on event layout but would include for example around the bar, BBQ, brazier, christmas tree, stalls etc).
Owners are reminded that they must always clean up after their dog and use the council provided dog waste bins, just outside the gates on Ashton Lane or Whitegate Lane. Please try to avoid the need for a clean-up on the grass itself, where just a bag may not be enough to ensure there is nothing left behind.
Responsible owners will understand that dogs must be well behaved and kept on a lead at all times during an event and should not be allowed in the children’s playground area or on the main sports pitch.
Please be considerate of others who may not share your love of dogs.
If a dog becomes a nuisance (including excessive barking) or there is concern for the welfare of an animal the event organisers may ask you to move to another area of the facility.
Please note that once the community event ends the everyday guidelines for visitors relating to access for dogs do not change. For health and safety considerations dogs are not allowed on the actual playing pitches, are strictly restricted to the perimeter path and must be on lead at all times.
The aim of the special community event guidelines is to strike a better balance between enabling wider community participation while maintaining health and safety standards for sports users by not allowing dogs on the actual playing pitch of the main football field.
