Parish Councillor

Chris Nicholas

My family and I moved to Ashton Hayes in early 2024 from the Wirral, where I was born and raised. We were searching for a relaxed, peaceful village that still had plenty going on and a strong community feel. We feel Ashton Hayes fits that bill perfectly and are keen to contribute to village life.

I was a primary school teacher for fifteen years, becoming a member of a school management team. One of my happiest memories of my teaching career was establishing a Forest School after gaining the Forest Leaders qualification so I enjoy the proximity of our village to so much woodland. In 2022, I had a change of direction to join the civil service. My career has given me extensive experience in working with a variety of people and following government policies to implement legally binding decisions. My wife is a paediatrician.

With our own young family, and my wife and I having worked with children and young people, I am keen to see the community spirit so evident in Ashton Hayes is passed on to the next generation.
