Ian Ridgley

I grew up in Essex and went to University in London studying Chemical Engineering. I then worked in a number of manufacturing businesses (Sugar, foodstuffs, wall tiles, conservatory roofs) before moving to the service sector. Having spent 20 years as a Senior Manager / Director I retired in 2019.

Jo and I were married in 2020 and in 2022 took the decision to buy a house together in a village where we could become part of a community. We definitely found that in Ashton Hayes and are involved in a number of Village activities.

We are both members of Ashton Hayes Theatre Club (though only Jo treads the boards!). I am a Trustee of Ashton Hayes Sports and Recreation Association and you will also see me serving in the Community Shop on Monday afternoons.

A great passion of ours is golf and we are both members of Portal Golf Club where I am the Handicaps Secretary.

You will often see Jo and I walking our Border Collie (Amos) who has a few relatives in the village).
