Originally a London based, university research chemist, Peter retired after thirty five years in the nuclear industry during which time he worked as a manager in nuclear fuel manufacture, business and strategic planning, contract and customer relationship management, and finally the transfer of assets, contracts and employees to the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority. He has lived in Cheshire for almost half a century although only moved to Ashton Hayes a couple of years ago, and joined the Parish Council in 2022. However, he has long standing connections with the area having been an active member and Secretary of Ashton Hayes Theatre Club in the late 1970s and 80s, and his late first wife was a teacher at Tarvin Primary School. He was also Secretary of the (Mid) Cheshire Theatre Guild and, more recently, a school governor and Vice Chair of Cuddington and District Parish Council. Peter and his wife Diane are respectively Treasurer and Chair of Forever Angels UK Ltd, a charity which supports babies and children in Tanzania when one or both parents have died; Tanzania is one of the poorest countries in the World with no welfare support. He has a strong belief that those who are retired and in good health should use their experience and do what they can to support the voluntary sector, and imputing that support to benefit the local community is no less important than issues of an international scale.
