Paul Varey

Paul, Sharon and Emma have lived in Ashton Hayes since 2004 along with their Cairn Terrier Amba. Paul retired in 2020 from a career in Education and Computer Science. He worked in both schools and colleges teaching people between the ages of 11 and 80 in the areas of Computer Science, Software Development, Networking and IT. He was head of faculty as well as being seconded onto the senior leadership team to run specific projects. He was also seconded by a government organisation for a couple of years to coordinate a national training programme related to IT and then by a local authority to manage an authority wide qualification. This background has given him a sound understanding and extensive experience of dealing with people and organisations at all levels. Paul chaired the original Parish Plan working group and then went on to be a member of the Neighbourhood Plan steering group. He joined the Parish Council in February 2017 and has been involved in a number of community initiatives.
